Some have told us that they have been to many Bar Mitzvah ceremonies but this was the best they have seen. My neighbor's daughters said that they were sorry that they did know about this type of service at the time of their Bat Mitzvahs. Those who were experiencing a Bar Mitzvah ceremony for the first time, told us that they expected a boring and dry event but were pleasantly surprised and delighted with the service. Your genuine warmth, humor and passion in combination with your interesting, informative and educational presentaion truly made for the most unique and impressive bar mitzvah ceremony my family, and the members of our "congregation" have ever experienced. All of our friends and family members in attendance, most of whom have attended countless bar and bat mitzvah ceremonies, have told us that Eric's bar mitzvah service was the most interesting, beautiful, and meaningful service they have ever attended. We could not agree more. Everything, from your introduction about the importance of the Torah, to your explanation of why it's customary to read a haf torah portion (believe it or not, practically no one in attendance, including girls and boys who had already been bar mitzvahed, knew this!) to your informative references and stories of jews, our experiences, and our customs, both historically and in today's world, made Eric's bar mitzvah ceremony not only one of the most joyous and meaningful experiences for us and our son, but also for all of our our family and friends in attendance. I am confident in saying that it was not only Eric who learned about "the importance of being a jew" on his bar mitzvah, but also for all of us who were present that day.
